about me

Little Amy already loved colouring, drawing and crafting things. Spending Wednesday afternoons with my grandmother, crafting things together, has been the highlight of my childhood. And I’ve recently rediscovered that pure, unadulterated joy of doing just that, taking things and gluing them together to create other things, slapping some paint on them to make them different, and completely losing myself in hyperfixation for a while. Just follow the random ideas and see where they take me.
In September 2025, I started an initiation course at SLAC in Leuven, putting me in a workshop for 4 hours a week, where I’m working on a life-size human sculpture alongside other, smaller projects. I’m being introduced to tons of different materials and techniques, and loving every second of it. Additionally, I’m getting a crash course in art history, which brings together my passions for the creative arts and studying copious amounts of information.
I don’t feel anywhere near confident enough to actively sell my art or take commissions yet, but if you’re interested in anything, drop me an e-mail at amy@amyjeannine.be and we’ll figure something out.
Themes & inspiration
I have a thing for skulls and skeletons, which you will find in many of my creations.
Outside of my own art, I am obsessed with pretty boxes, egg-shaped things, and coin dozer machines. I love rabbits, both in general and specifically my own two fuzzballs, and I have a passion for video games.
Materials
As an artist, I enjoy experimenting with all kinds of materials and styles. I enjoy doing all kinds of things: making both digital and physical art, painting using aquarel and acrylic paints, sculpting with clay or papier-mâché, building diorama’s using wood or plastic, sewing projectsvarious textiles… I will find a use for everything I have lying around and can find in the local thrift store.
My go-to materials in stock are wooden clothespins, newspaper (for papier mâché), various scraps of cardboard, coloured paper and textiles, and of course acrylic paint.
I generally don’t like glittery things unless the piece really calls for it, and I tend ot have textural issues with polystyrene and wool, so you won’t normally find me using those.
