diamond painting gems

My mother does diamond painting and has a lot of leftover gems she doesn’t know what to do with. I brought some home with me, thinking I’d find a project for them.

They apparently make an incredibly good texture! I first tried it out on a clothespin (I learned from my mistakes) and then applied it to the base of the diorama I’m working on. It gives “gravel” or “rocky” and I’m loving it!

Planning on using this technique to cover the piles of coins for my dragon diorama, but I’ll get some yellow/grey/brown gems so they don’t have to be painted.
