Selawyn Ravelle is actually a Disney Tote ILY Teenies Series 2 I Love Sally Mini Doll, inspired by Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. I’m not a Sally superfan or anything, I just LOVED her face and hair, and thought she’d make a pretty cute witch.
The first step was cutting off her hair to a more manageable length. That felt a little painful, to be honest. I might find a purpose for the hai later, like a wig or something? Ideas are welcome.
I tried sewing a dress for her, but she is really tiny and I’m just not that skilled. It didn’t look good, so I opted for repainting her dress and shoes, and making her a little hat. The hat will get a remake later, but I’m pretty happy with the repaint of the clothes.
With the witch done, it was time to give ger a house. I started by making a cardboard mockup of the design I had in mind.
I started working on what initially was going to be just an empty, enclosed spase serving to make the tower higher, which wouldn’t be visible in the final diorama. I built a dungeon/basement scene and added a window to look into, as well as a light to make that possible.

With that ready and locked down, I started on the entrance.
From some wooden letters (2 x ‘love’ and one ampersand), I put together Ravelle’s name.
I also had these little pieces of carved wood from a Queen music box that would make perfectly magical front doors. Added some extra wood to make the doors sturdier and thicker, and dediced to have some fun with it, because why not?
The rest of my progress is now drying before I can take photos. To be continued.
